At Fellowship Baptist Church we take the Great Commission very seriously. The local church has been given a job to do - to reach the world with the good news of salvation and an eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We practice evangelism in our own city as well as supporting church planting efforts in New Zealand and around the world. We are very excited to be able to send one of our own, Theresa Mofya, to the mission field in Malawi, Africa. Theresa will be using her medical skills as a part of a church planting team operating in Malawi and neighbouring countries.
Theresa is a nurse and midwife who has undergone extra training for medical missions in developing countries. She is working with missionary Jason Sigmon (http://www.madagascarorphanage.com/) and also Gilbert Anger in Malawi. The goal is fourfold:
1. A Pastors Training School.
2. A medical clinic in the Mulanje area and a mobile medical clinic.
3. A missions boot camp
4. An orphanage.
Please see our page 'Mother Theresa to Malawi' for more info.
